When I watched the pilot episode for the first time, I had this strong feeling that Charlie, in one way or another, would meet God face-to-face, challenge Him, and question His judgments. Back then, when we didn't have much information about Heaven and who rules it, the existence of exorcists killing sinners felt, in my head, like a thing only God would command.
