The first phase of the general election in Myanmar has ended against the backdrop of civil war. It's the first election since a military coup ousted Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi in 2021. The legitimacy of the election is being questioned by both the United Nations and Human Rights groups since major parties have been excluded.
