Residents in Hood County voiced their disdain for a proposal 2,600 acre data center with hope to function as soon as 2027.

The proposal will be before planning and zoning commission on Tuesday and will return to City Council in February.

Costs per megawatt, the measure of a data center project such as this one under construction in Ashburn, Va., have risen dramatically in recent years, stretching the limits of insurance coverage.
